AIACNY is hosting an Architecture Firm Crawl on Wednesday April 1st, 2026. Join us as we visit 5 architecture firms local to downtown Syracuse.
This is a great opportunity for any high school student that may have an interest in pursuing a career and/or continuing their education in architecture. Don’t miss out on getting to explore various architectural practices, observe projects, and engage with professionals in the field!
The Details:
Who: High school students (all grades welcome).
When: April 1st – 9am-5pm
Lunch: There will be a break for lunch which will be provided.
Cost: There is no cost to students. This is a FREE event!

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is once again celebrating architecture week! Every year, typically in April, there is a week dedicated to promoting the power of architecture and design. The primary focus is inspiring the next generation of architects/designers through K-12 outreach. This year AIA is hosting virtual read-alouds all week long.

Course Description:
Dive into the captivating world of architecture this summer with the Intro to Architecture Summer Program, specially designed for high school students passionate about exploring the architectural field. Hosted by AIACNY at shared office at Commonspace in downtown Syracuse , this enriching six-week journey unfolds two evenings a week, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the field.
Explore Architectural Concepts: Explore architecture fundamentals and understand space, form, and function.
Hands-On Design Projects: Get creative with exciting design challenges and bring your architectural ideas to life.
Field Trips: Embark on educational field trips to architectural landmarks for real-world inspiration. Tour Architecture programs at local colleges.
Expert Guidance: Learn from experienced architects who will guide you through the process and share valuable insights.
Group Collaboration: Foster teamwork and communication skills by collaborating with fellow aspiring architects.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with fellow architecture enthusiasts and learn from experts in the field. The Intro to Architecture Summer Program is more than just a course – it’s a stepping stone to your future in architecture, meticulously crafted to equip high school students with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful transition into higher education and beyond.
